I grew up in Oregon, and have wanted a Subaru Outback my entire adult life. After moving out to Ohio, that's exactly what I did. I've been slowly making mods to my '13 Outback Premium, and trying to push it to see how much the machine can handle. This month alone, I have finished the murdered headlight + grille conversion, and swapped out the spark plugs for a pair of shiny new NGK Iridiums. I'm engaged to a beautiful woman right now - and she has been by my side, handing me tools, hauling in the long hours with me, and asking to drive the Outback more and more :)

Welcome to Ohio!!!

This show is equal parts entertaining and depressing for me. Entertaining because of their characters, styles, and different sketch ideas. Depressing because I'm from Portland, and more than half of these sketches describe pretty accurately myself or very close friends.

Have you had it tuned yet?

Also some nice aftermarket headers for that car are CHEAP!

I'm jealous.   I have outback lust.  Ever since I sold my 96 Outback I have missed having one,

How difficult was it to paint and bake the headlights?  Been thinking about doing it to my car if its not a huge hassle.

just like anything else.... it wont be the same afterwards....the clips get chewed up a little and there is always the chance of needing to rebake due to fogging.

I couldn't fathom moving from OR to OH. That's the wrong way to do it, man.

If you find yourself justifying your decisions to "haters", you probably make stupid decisions.

I've done it a few times and frankly it's pretty easy.   I switched out the lenses on my legacy.  Before you reasseble it bake it a bit to warm up the sealant,   then wonce reassembled and all of the clips are in place, then bake it one last time.

The trick is when you are finished,   put a thin bead of black rtv over the seam, and smooth it out with your finger.   This is to ensure the seal is intact all the way around.     With that,  I've never had to rebake a lamp assembly.

I've never added sealer. I always heat the halves before smushing back together. I don't like adding a non-native chemical element to the existing sealer.

I think what he means is add a small bead of rtv sealant on the outside after you rebake and smush the old stuff back together. Thats what i did on my bugeye.

No tuning yet. Which headers would you recommend, and why?

I'm pretty sure those prices are in Australian Dollars, which means cheaper prices once exchanged.
