Another new eastsider here, I recently stopped by TIC and learned about this site.

First Subaru, first car really... (I have owned 3 trucks and a couple bikes)

Looking to possibly do some track days but I wouldn't mind going on a trip to deals gap!

Welcome.
If you find yourself justifying your decisions to "haters", you probably make stupid decisions.

Welcome! 1010ths has a track weekend at Putnam next month or you can try SCCA track nights which is in May. Tons more this year... just make sure to upgrade your brake fluid and pads before going

I just checked and the novice group is already full! I was thinking mid-O with chin motorsports, has anyone ran with either of these groups?

Welcome

I've heard good things about Chin and their HPDEs but I wouldn't make MidO your first track day. The walls are close and they sting. If it happens to be damp it turns into a skating rink as well.

Putnam for a first track day is by far the better choice. Way more run off and the track is still very fun. 1010ths puts on excellent events and has good instructors as well. If you really wanted to do the event on April I'd email Bill from 1010ths and see if he can get you on a waiting list. People drop out all the time.

x2 what Nick said... go to Putnam first. 1010ths has a great novice program where they don't just give you track time but also give you classes between your sessions to improve your driving. Worth it even if you have to be put on a waiting list.
